Be prepared to both ask questions and answer questions. To help you out we have created a quick start list of questions to help you keep the conversation moving

Here is a list of suggested questions to ask your new contact:

  1. What are the primary goals of your business?
  2. What are your responsibilities?
  3. Who are your customers?
  4. How many years have you been doing this business and/or been with this company?
  5. What are your biggest challenges? What are you doing to overcome those challenges?
  6. What trends are affecting your business?
  7. What are your priorities right now?
  8. What did you do before?
  9. How do you measure success?
  10. What do you need to be successful? Personally, professionally?
  11. How do you find new customers?
  12. How has your organization been impacted by the current economic trends?
  13. What business connection is near the top of your "Things to Accomplish" list and why?
  14. What do you feel your organization does best, and how can it be improved?
  15. How do you communicate changes in your company / industry to your staff, your vendors and/or current and prospective customers?
  16. How do you present new products / services to your customers both inside and outside your local area?
  17. What might we not know about you and your company that would help us promote your services?
  18. Has your company recently received any awards or accolades?
