- Monthly Community Forum Teleconferences will be held on the First Monday in each month at 11:30am (2nd for September) through November 3rd. Dial: 1-800-791-2345 enter Conference Code: 56071#
- Goal: Build you own "Neighborhood" of contacts by completing 8 Building Permits, 4 Neighbors and 4 Businesses, and submit to the Global Community Challenge online or a Membership Committee contact prior to December 31, 2008. (Hint: Make it simple, complete one 1 per month.)
- Secondary Goal (but most important): Refer business to other MPI members, and file a "Good Neighbor Report" or "Citizen 911" to record it! (See below for explanation)
- Using your MPI Directory or online directory, choose four (4) "Neighbors" (preferably people that you do not already know). Build your Neighborhood out of members who represent a parallel or competing business. Schedule a face-to-face meeting*. Get to know the person, the business they are in, who their customers are, and what they most need to be successful. How can you be their partner? It is important that you meet your neighbors before moving to the next step, but not a requirement.
- Again, using your MPI Directory or online directory, choose four (4) "Businesses" (potential clients, people you want to do business with) schedule a face-to-face meeting*. Get to know the person, the business they are in, who their customers are, and what they most need to be successful. Don't sell them your services! Ask how you can help them, what do they need most. Listen to what they need and be available to brainstorm. This is where you can hopefully refer them to one of your Neighbors, or another MPI member they may not already know to help them.
- After each face-to-face meeting, complete a "Building Permit," available online and submit to Membership. Remember to note whether the meeting was with a "Neighbor" or "Business" because you must have 4 of each type to win the competition.
- "Certificate of Occupancy" will be awarded at the Monthly meetings to Bricks who have filed 8 Building permits, 4 of each type.
Congratulations you just poured the foundation to your very own Global Community! But you are not done yet!
- Complete a "Good Neighbor Report," available online, or at each monthly meeting and submit to membership, when you 1) do business with an MPI member, 2) refer a Neighbor to another MPI member, or 3) refer business from a non-MPI member to an MPI member.
- Got a lead, don't know who to send it to? Complete a "Citizen 911" online or call the Hotline at 602-277-1494 ext 1 and we will make sure your lead is directed to an MPI member who will call you or your client within 24 hours (except for weekends and holidays).
- Receive a "Community Award" when you have referred 4 leads or actual pieces of business to any of your NEW Community Members (from the 8 permits above) or 8 leads to MPI members overall. Combo's of 3 New/2 Any, 2 New/4 Any, and 1 New/6 Any will also qualify.
- The Brick (that's YOU!) who completes all 8 phases of Building Permits, plus the most Community Awards will win the "Pillar of the Community Award" and 5 day southern California Vacation Getaway.
- The Member who submits the most "Citizen 911's" (aka LEADS!) will receive the "Good Citizen Award" and two night Southern California Vacation Escape!
- Keep the economy thriving when you grow your Community with MPI!
*If you reside outside of the metro Phoenix area you can participate too! Complete a minimum of 2 face-to-face meetings, and 6 over the phone interviews to qualify.
