Membership InformationIn order to be a member of the Arizona Chapter of MPI, you must first become a member of the parent organization Meeting Professionals International (MPI). Membership is offered to meeting professionals under the planner or supplier category. As of August, 2001, the annual membership dues are $350 US and $475 CDN (includes $25 admission fee). MPI membership entitles you to an affiliation with a local chapter. Chapter assignment is determined by geographical region unless otherwise requested. For a membership application and packet of information please contact the MPI-Arizona chapter office or you can fill out the MPI Membership Application Form on-line by going directly to the MPI website. They use a secure encryption connection in order to process your membership and payment information safely. (Note, it is recommended that you connect to the MPI website via Microsoft Explorer browser and not Netscape).

It is the right of the individual member to take their membership with them when they move from one position to another or change employment. The member can continue the membership through the expiration date when they leave their employer and not transfer it. That individual must change their address with MPI Headquarters in order to keep their membership continuous and to receive member benefits. In the event a member leaves the employing organization, leaves the industry, or for any other reason finds it necessary to terminate their membership, it is the right of the member to transfer their membership to a qualified employee within the same company. The member may do so providing the following conditions are met: 1) Written notice of transfer of membership, signed by the current member, with proper and complete paperwork must be provided to MPI International Headquarters prior to the expiration date of membership. The notice must include the full name and address of the new member who will assume the current membership through its expiration date. No planner match is required of the supplier. No application fee applies. 2) The individual receiving the transfer must complete an MPI membership application. Membership transfers are only applicable to full dues paying members and are not applicable to lifetime members or students. Employers who lose membership representation in MPI due to a member employee leaving the company and taking their membership with them, may apply for a trial six-month "limited membership" for a new or existing employee of the company to replace a departing MPI member. There is no fee for this trial six-month "limited membership." Within the six-month "limited membership" period, a new supplier member is required to find a new planner match in order to continue to a full MPI membership with all privileges and benefits. Questions regarding the new policy may be directed to Sharnette Walton, Manager of Member Records, 972-702-3022 or e-mail at swalton@mpiweb.org MPI Arizona Sunbelt Chapter Membership FactsAZ Sunbelt Chapter has 364 members, 142 are planners
